In summer 2009 I worked with a small team to set up a temporary exhibition “Beside the Seaside”, at Berwick Museum in north east England. I designed the interpretive and publicity materials, the text, gallery preparation and object selection was a collaborative effort, with one display produced by an external group “The Underwear Project”.
The exhibition had already been advertised, and the dates were fixed about three weeks from our start date. Most of the physical space was ready (although I remember having to fit some acrylic sheets and re-paint a few walls).
The exhibition was a big success, and the curator decided to extend the closing date, opening a new gallery in a former store room for the year’s second temporary exhibition, “Icons of the Steam Age“.
